New Deals – Emergent issues in Substance Misuse: Since the late 2000s, there have been significant changes in the drugs market. The rise of Novel Psychoactive Substances, sometimes erroneously referred to as ‘legal highs’, has left policy makers, law enforcement and educators often struggling to catch up. New paradigms have been created in the ways that drugs are bought and sold, from hidden web sites to open high street sales. The session offers good practice for dealing with incidents in school, and looks at the latest research into effective education strategies.
