Summary

The aim of the SmokeFree Award is for schools and academies to develop a whole site  SmokeFree policy. The purpose of the policy is to provide a SmokeFree environment in all areas of the school or academy, and to reduce the exposure to tobacco smoke for all staff, students and others on the site.  The SmokeFree Schools Award has two levels - Silver and Gold. To achieve a Silver award, the school or academy must submit a whole site SmokeFree policy aiming to provide a whole site SmokeFree environment.

To achieve Gold, the school or academy must commit in its policy to the provision of educational input on smoking and health into relevant areas of the curriculum. For further information about this award and to get involved, please contact Laura Peggs: laura.peggs@nelincs.gov.uk
